Water Break

This was my digital painting project for this week. Worked on some of it yesterday during the hangout. Thanks to those who joined, hope it was fun!

I had been wanting to do an environment painting next, but not one that had a ton of detail, because I wanted to finish it in a day. I was scrolling through Behance and found this striking photo of a motorcycle rider at sunset in a dry lakebed.

Then I remembered I had a motorcycle design I had already done, that needed an environment.

So I combined the two, and challenged myself to put the lighting from the photo on the line drawing of the rabbit cycle. I also hope this serves as an example of how to use. reference properly. Not to straight up copy an image, but to let the photo inform what you want to create.

Learned a lot on this one about color, and how it reacts to the light in the environment.

I need to break all this stuff down in tutorials, I know, it's on my to do list!
